A quick five-minute drive from Pedernal Ranch takes you to Abiquiu Lake, a 4,000 acre man-made reservoir on the Chama River watershed. Here, fishermen can enjoy the red sandstone cliffs and mesas lined with Pinon, Juniper, and Sage trees that border the lake. In addition, the lake presents great views of Abiquiu's prized mountain, Cerro Pedernal. Fish species include catfish, crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye and rainbow trout.
