The Rio Chama, a designated American “Wild and Scenic River,” provides Class II and II whitewater rafting. The river cuts through Northern New Mexico’s red rock country, the multi-hued cliffs around Abiquiu, and breathtaking vegetation. Pedernal Ranch arranges one-day rafting adventures down the Rio Chama with expert rafting guides. At Pedernal Ranch, guests will enjoy a continental breakfast. We then take guests down to Abiquiu’s Bodies General Store at around 9:00 a.m., where they meet with their rafting guides. Rafting guides will provide splash clothing, a dry bag to carry small items, and a full lunch. Two and three day overnight Chama rafting trips also available. All camping equipment and meals provided.
