The untamed and impressive Chama River, a key tributary of the Rio Grande, borders the western portion of Ranch Pedernal. The river flows through the Chama River Canyon Wilderness area, over 50,000 acres of varying landscapes and vegetation. Our guests can walk to the river from the ranch and experience some of New Mexico's best fishing —particularly for brown and rainbow trout—while enjoying the river’s rugged, multi-hued canyon terrain.
