Pedernal Ranch lies within a ninety-minute drive to New Mexico's best
ski basins including Wolf Creek, Taos, Santa Fe, Pajarito and Sipapu.
We provide transportation to and from the ski basins, arrange for equipment
rental, and coordinate individual skiing lessons upon request.
Wolf Creek
Located in the San Juan/Rio Grande National Forest in Colorado, Wolf Creek
Ski Resort includes over 1,500 skiable acres with a base elevation of
10,300 feet and summit elevation of 11,900 feet. The resort receives an
average of 465 natural inches of annual snowfall and maintains slopes
for beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert skiers. Six ski lifts
service the resort's many slopes. Wolf Creek's ski season typically begins
in early November and ends in early April.
Taos Ski Valley Resort
Taos Ski Valley Resort, positioned in the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico,
features 110 trails for beginner, intermediate and expert skiers with
twelve ski lifts. The resort boasts of a well-ranked ski school, uncrowded
slopes, ample snow and beautiful sunny days. Taos Ski Valley's elevation
ranges between 9,200 feet and nearly 12,000 feet. Annual snowfall averages
305 inches. The resort's season begins in late November and ends in early
April.
Ski Santa Fe
Located less than half an hour from the historical city of Santa Fe, Ski
Santa Fe covers 660 acres of breathtaking terrain in the Sangre de Cristo
mountain range and reaches over 12,000 feet elevation. The ski basin maintains
six ski lifts and forty-four trails for beginner, intermediate and advanced
skiers and snowboarders. On average, Ski Santa Fe receives 225 inches
of snowfall each year. The winter season typically begins on Thanksgiving
and ends on Easter.
Pajarito Mountain Ski Area
Pajarito Mountain, located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, includes 280 skiable
acres, thirty-seven trails for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers,
and five chair lifts. The base of the mountain lies at 9,200 feet and
the peak elevation reaches to 10,441 feet. Pajarito's ski season typically
begins in mid December and ends in April, though it depends on weather
conditions.
Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort
Sipapu, the oldest ski area in Northern New Mexico, includes 200 skiable
acres of the Carson National Forest. Elevation ranges from 8,200 feet
at the mountain base to 9,200 at its peak, and annual snowfall averages
130 inches. The resort maintains thirty-one trails for skiers of all levels
serviced by four ski lifts. Opens in late November.
